Can You Transfer TelOne Data to another Account?

Can you transfer TelOne data to another account? As an existing TelOne client, you can send data to another TelOne customer. You can only do this twice a month and you can send a maximum of 40% of your package cap.

The recipient’s account should not exceed 60 days since it was last active to qualify for a transfer. The sender must make use of the recipient’s TelOne account number to send the data. Upon a successful transaction, the transfer can not be reversed. It is also important to note that you can not send out rollover data.

What is rollover data?

Whenever you recharge your TelOne internet account you receive data that expires after thirty days. If for one reason or another you do not max out your monthly data allocation, you can have that data rolled over into the following thirty-day period.

You can use your rollover data the exact same way you use your original data. After the rollover period of thirty days, you will not get another grace period to max out your data in case you still have some leftover. You also can not transfer your rollover data.

How can I top up my account online?

You can get access to the TelOne online portal using the username and password related to your account. Thanks to this portal you will not need a call centre or customer care agent for some of your account-related tasks.

Once logged in to your profile you can view your WiFi bundle balance. You can also generate a statement that shows your household’s internet use over a certain period. You can also use payment options available to top up your bundles or recharge for a new month.

Are TelOne and NetOne the same?

Though TelOne and NetOne are both owned by the Zimbabwean government, they are not the same. The two companies are both in telecommunications. TelOne provides a fixed-line network for both voice and broadband services.

NetOne on the other hand is a mobile network provider.  Both companies have a very wide coverage across Zimbabwe. TelOne has the largest fixed-line network in the entire country while NetOne is the second-largest mobile network provider.

NetOne is currently working on introducing 5G internet on their service package. They will be the second company to launch 5G after Econet Wireless which launched in Harare and most recently in Bulawayo.

How fast is NetOne internet?

NetOne has the second-fastest mobile internet after Econet Wireless. In a speed test, Econet topped at 7.6Mbps at that time while NetOne was 6.5mbps. Telecel came last at 1.91Mbps. However, with the recent launch of 5G by Econet, it stands way higher than the other two in terms of speed.

They recorded a speed of 3000Mbps! 5G is generally many times faster than 4G so we can expect NetOne’s 5G speed to be around that range. Telecel has not yet announced its plans for 5G.
